Two-Wheeler (Bike) Driving Licence Test Guide

Getting a licence for a motorcycle or scooter follows the same two-stage process as a car licence: a written Learner's test, then a practical riding test.

The written test

Covers traffic signs, road rules, and safety practices specific to two-wheelers — helmet rules, lane discipline, and pillion-rider rules come up often. Use the question bank and mock test on this site to practice.

The practical test

Usually involves riding a figure-of-8 or similar track without putting your feet down, along with basic control checks like braking, balance at low speed, and signalling.

Vehicle class note

Licences are typically issued separately for 'without gear' (scooters, mopeds) and 'with gear' two-wheelers — check which class you're applying for, since the minimum age differs (commonly 16 for without-gear, 18 for with-gear).
